Ambree's Bachelorette Weekend

In early August we planned a weekend in Houston for Ambree's bachelorette party. Ambree drove to College Station, and then we met Cynthia and Allison (two other bridesmaids) at Pinot's Palette for a night full of wine (not for me!) and painting. We had a great time!

Here is what my painting looked like step by step...

Ta-da!!!
That night we spent the night at Cynthia's house in Sugarland. The next morning we slept in and ate lunch at a great little deli nearby. Unfortunately I was battling a migraine throughout the whole weekend (another one of the joys of my pregnancies) and ended up having to leave on Saturday night when my vision returned (somewhat) to normal (after trying to sleep it off all afternoon).
Several girls came over for a lingerie shower that night and then they all went out to dinner and a piano bar. I was SO sad to miss it!
But most importantly- Ambree had a great weekend and we all had a blast celebrating one of her last weekends as a single lady!
She was officially ready for her big day!

Randomness

The end of this summer flew by (especially with the joys of the first trimester leaving me exhausted and nauseous most of the time!). Here are a few tidbits to document what has been going on with us...
We painted the front bedroom! We have been getting it set-up as Bryson's big boy room for a while now. I am in no rush and am trying to keep Bryson in his crib for as long as possible. We are afraid that our sleeping days will be over when he makes the move to the new room with the big boy bed, so we are clinging to every last night! I have caught him balancing on the rail of the crib a few times, so I am sure it is only a matter of time...
This was Jason's first painting experience (and he says it was definitely his last). It only took us a few hours- and I LOVE how it turned out!
We finally got to meet Felisa's granddaughter Sophia. She is beautiful!
This was right before Bryson dropped his arm, accidentally hitting Sophia in the head and leaving her screaming. Good times with an unpredictable two year old...
Another project in Bryson's new big boy room- rain gutter bookshelves! I found a tutorial on-line and showed it to Jason. A quick trip to Lowe's and one afternoon later we had a wall full of bookshelves that are amazing! I will take pictures of the finished room soon (hopefully- I'm not doing too great with staying on top of these things lately!) and post them. Stay tuned!

Baby Luka joined us! He came a few weeks early but was absolutely perfect! Congratulations Eric, Stacey, and Lili!

July Beach Trip

***I have got so much catching up to do with this blog. I have not been feeling well and trying to work full-time with a two year old has proven to be a bit challenging for me. I would be in bed at 8pm every night if it were up to me! So, I'm going to work on catching up, because I want all of this in our book when it is printed out. Here we go...

At the end of July we took a family vacation to the big island of Galveston. We discovered Galveston last summer for the first time and we love it.  It only takes 2 1/2 hours to get there (with Houston traffic) and we have had clean beaches mostly to ourselves each time we have been. Not to mention all of the restaurants and things to do on the island.
The first day we got there it was raining, so we headed to the aquarium. Bryson was in Heaven. And that is an understatement! Thanks to Grandma, Bryson ran from exhibit to exhibit screaming "Oh goodness! Oh goodness! Oh My Goodness!" Everyone was laughing at how excited he was. It was really cute and we all really enjoyed it. The aquarium was definitely the perfect solution for a rainy afternoon!

Bryson loved the seals and the penguins the most.
We played at the beach some that evening, and then headed to our condo for the night. The next morning Bryson and Jason went to get doughnuts. We ate breakfast on our balcony. Bryson loved the doughnuts so much that he asked for them the next morning (and has continued to ask for them most mornings!).
Doesn't get much better than this!

 Early morning view...
 Our living room and balcony...
 To the beach!
B getting used to the water (with our condo in the background).
A few threatening rain clouds- thankfully they passed quickly!
That afternoon we took the ferry over to a peninsula that we were told we needed to check out. B loved the birds, and we even saw dolphins!
Back at the beach for some fun in the sun...

 Jumping the waves...
We found out we were pregnant the week before our trip.

The morning before we left we headed down to the beach to feed the seagulls. They wouldn't eat our bread! We couldn't believe it! And, we should've known not to take a toddler to the beach in his clothes...
We grabbed a quick lunch at McAllister's and headed home. Bryson was pooped and slept the whole way! We had a great trip and made so many fun memories!

Big News!

We have some HUGE news! We're having a baby!
Right now I am 13 weeks along and definitely looking forward to starting the second trimester. I am due on April 3, 2012, but will be having a c-section a week early- meaning we should have a March baby! We prayed and prayed and prayed for this baby. We have friends and family who have prayed for this baby. We can't wait to hold this precious little bundle in our arms!

I found this idea for a pregnancy announcement and thought it was so cute. Kristin was going to come take the picture for us, but then I decided just to try to get a good shot by setting my timer. After only 553,424 attempts, we finally got a few that I thought might work (imagine a rambunctious 2 year-old stomping on the baby shoes, running around, etc...). We were worn out- and I am so sad to admit that my legs and rear are actually sore from all of the squatting down and jumping up to make it in time for the picture. How out of shape am I? :) Anyways, I LOVE the end result!
Here are a few of the other shots we got:

We are blessed!

Bryson Turns Two

**I am SO FAR BEHIND!!! One day- hopefully soon- I WILL catch up!**

Bryson's actual birthday was about a week after we had his party. So, we had to celebrate again!
That morning we had him sit in the recliner while Jason wheeled in his new tricycle. He was so nervous and excited! It was so funny to watch.
I love. this. picture. There is something about the pure joy on that little face- doesn't get much better than that!
And what is a birthday without getting to lick the batters of your birthday cake? Bryson REALLY loved this part of his birthday.

That evening we had a few close friends over and grilled burgers. We set up the slip-n-slide and sand/water table. The kids had a blast playing in the water!

Singing "Happy Birthday." B suddenly became very shy while we were singing, but couldn't stop smiling.

 Mmmmmm, cake!
The evening came to an end all too quickly and it was time for everyone to go home. Bryson was pooped after running around all evening! We are so thankful for this precious little boy that God has given us, and also for the friends who helped us celebrate him.  It has been an amazing two years!
