***I have got so much catching up to do with this blog. I have not been feeling well and trying to work full-time with a two year old has proven to be a bit challenging for me. I would be in bed at 8pm every night if it were up to me! So, I'm going to work on catching up, because I want all of this in our book when it is printed out. Here we go...
At the end of July we took a family vacation to the big island of Galveston. We discovered Galveston last summer for the first time and we love it. It only takes 2 1/2 hours to get there (with Houston traffic) and we have had clean beaches mostly to ourselves each time we have been. Not to mention all of the restaurants and things to do on the island.
The first day we got there it was raining, so we headed to the aquarium. Bryson was in Heaven. And that is an understatement! Thanks to Grandma, Bryson ran from exhibit to exhibit screaming "Oh goodness! Oh goodness! Oh My Goodness!" Everyone was laughing at how excited he was. It was really cute and we all really enjoyed it. The aquarium was definitely the perfect solution for a rainy afternoon!
Bryson loved the seals and the penguins the most.
We played at the beach some that evening, and then headed to our condo for the night. The next morning Bryson and Jason went to get doughnuts. We ate breakfast on our balcony. Bryson loved the doughnuts so much that he asked for them the next morning (and has continued to ask for them most mornings!).
Doesn't get much better than this!
Early morning view...
Our living room and balcony...
To the beach!
B getting used to the water (with our condo in the background).
A few threatening rain clouds- thankfully they passed quickly!
That afternoon we took the ferry over to a peninsula that we were told we needed to check out. B loved the birds, and we even saw dolphins!
Back at the beach for some fun in the sun...
Jumping the waves...
We found out we were pregnant the week before our trip.
The morning before we left we headed down to the beach to feed the seagulls. They wouldn't eat our bread! We couldn't believe it! And, we should've known not to take a toddler to the beach in his clothes...
We grabbed a quick lunch at McAllister's and headed home. Bryson was pooped and slept the whole way! We had a great trip and made so many fun memories!
