~Halloween 2010~

 We had a great Halloween weekend. We relaxed on Saturday and I was able to finish

Bryson's fisherman's vest while Jason and Bryson napped. It was wonderful to just be home and get things done around the house.

 On Sunday afternoon we continued with more of the same-- lots of down time, and baking. Bryson especially liked the baking...

Orange Day

 Today Bryson had an "Orange you glad we're friends?!" party at Mrs. Erin's house.  She was brave enough to tie-dye shirts with the kids last week, and they all wore them today to go with the orange theme. Their day was packed with cute orange activities; from eating pumpkin waffles to painting pumpkins, Bryson enjoyed quite the party. I made cupcakes for their snack,

and these bite-sized candycorn cookies for Bryson's friends.

Pumpkin Patch

Bryson was feeling a little bit better by Sunday afternoon so we decided to venture out of the house and head to the local pumpkin patch.  We definitely waited a little bit too late this year- most of the good pumpkins were gone! Oh well- we had a good time and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Here is our little "Pumpkin" at this time last year. Pretty crazy {and sad} to look back and realize how much he has changed over the last year. What an amazing blessing.

What was I thinking???

For some strange reason I decided to sew Bryson's fishing vest for Halloween this year. Sew. I don't know how to sew. I took one "Sewing 101" class and then thought this would be a good idea?!?! For all of you who knew about this genius idea of mine and didn't enlighten me on the stupidity of it- I expected more from you. Whatever happened to honesty in a relationship? :) This was

D-U-M-B!

So now I am stuck with this pattern:

Six days before Halloween...

Poor Baby...

Bryson started coughing last week and it progressively got worse and worse. It was mainly during the night and when he first woke up. He was also having severe allergies. Benadryl seemed to really help the situation, so I didn't think a lot of it. No fever.

Until Friday afternoon. Until the Friday afternoon when we were scheduled to have family pictures taken in downtown Bryan. Until the Friday afternoon that my Mom drove into town to help us with Bryson during the family pictures in downtown Bryan...

Erin called and said that he was HOT and not feeling well. She gave him Motrin and put him down for a nap. I held out hope that he would wake up and be as good as new. Didn't happen. He was worse.

Called the photographer and rescheduled. Took care of a sick baby all weekend. Put Vicks on his feet and chest (don't knock it until you try it- I really think it helped!). Steamed up the bathroom like my Mom used to do. Got a new humidifier. Held him while he coughed all night.

It was so nice to have my Mom here (she let me go back to sleep when she got up on Saturday morning- LIFE SAVER).

So our pictures have been postponed. Bryson is on the mend- now if I can just get rid of this horrible cough...  :(

Trip Home

Last weekend we loaded up and headed to New Braunfels to celebrate my Mom's birthday. Her birthday was officially on Monday the 18th, but our celebration started on Friday! Jason grilled that evening. We enjoyed the beautiful weather by sitting outside and watching Bryson play on the new toys Grandma got him. He has several new ride-on toys (can we say spoiled? :). Their driveway slopes downward and he LOVED cruising down the "hill". By the time we left he had started to throw his hands in the air while going down the hill. I am now positive that we have a dare-devil on our hands! Here are a few pictures from our weekend:

 There was a whole station set up with buttons and switches that turned things off and on. Bryson loved it, which I knew he would since he loves to turn the lights off and on at home. We spent quite a bit of time here...

We had such a good time and are already looking forward to our next trip to New Braunfels so that we can visit the children's museum again.

Jason went hunting in Pleasanton on Saturday and spent the night there. He came back to NB on Sunday morning (with lots of dove for our freezer) and we came home after a delicious lunch at Clear Springs.
