Busy, Busy Weekend!

The first weekend in December was spent running non-stop. We spent Friday evening in down-town Bryan at First Fridays.  Every month, on the first Friday, all of the shops stay open late and most of them offer free goodies. There is live music on the streets, and this month they had horse-drawn carriage rides. We met the Rowse family and enjoyed a delicious dinner at Casa Rodriguez. Too bad our children didn't think it was quite as delicious and didn't want to sit still. We ended up taking shifts and scarfing down cold food, but we still had a great time. At least the company was good. :) If you know Bryson you know that we didn't make the carriage ride, either. He loved the live music and showed off his dancing skills to the crowds. It was truly a great evening. Here is the only picture I took. Didn't want to look too touristy...  :)
 Saturday morning our favorite babysitter came over so that Jason and I could go to the A&M Women's basketball game at Reed Arena. Bryson loved playing with Kayla and Jason and I had a great time at the game. We were given free tickets {which made it even more enjoyable!}. After the game we grabbed a quick bite to eat and made it home just as Bryson was waking up from his nap. We are hoping to make it to more games in the future.
Sunday evening was our Sunday School Christmas party.
I took these chocolate candy cane cupcakes {SO good!}, and we stuffed ourselves with way more food than should be humanly possible at the pot-luck dinner.
Dee, Garrett, and Gabi
 Kristin, Annabel, and Maddi

 The men hanging out in Mike's man cave...
 More hanging out...
 I made some home-made goodies for our friends:
Wyatt and Bryson
 Stacey with the Santa Clause she won in the white elephant gift exchange {too bad Lili broke the feet off before Stacey even opened it! Ahhh the joys of motherhood :)}
 I won a fabulous Pampered Chef miniature cutting board and paring knife that Stacey and I may or may not have schemed for me to get. As a consolation for getting the gift I wanted Stacey threw in the hat that she won last year {I think this started with Sarah Lancaster??}. Anyways, it was a great touch- and Bryson loves to wear it all around our house with Halle chasing him {I'm pretty sure she thinks he has a wild animal stuck to his head}.
 The guys chose to do true White-Elephant gifts this year, and tried to see who could get the worst present. Jared won a neck-line slimmer. So funny!
 Eric won a Superman snuggie and the wooden demon-thing that has been passed down for the last few years {thank-you John Rocconi!}.
 And my sweet husband won----- a talking bobble head. To make matters worse, it is "The Situation" from the tv show "Jersey Shore." It was thrown in the backseat and talked to us all the way home that night...
What a great night surrounded by sweet friends. We are richly blessed!
