No more strawberries!

A few weeks ago Bryson broke out in hives- all over! His trunk seemed to be the worst. I took him in to see the pediatrician. She said it was hives, and could be caused by anything on a list a mile long. I started to look back at what he had been eating just prior to breaking out. The night before he had strawberries, and then the next day he had strawberries for lunch. It was after waking up from his nap that afternoon that the hives were horrible! The saddest part is that he absolutely loves strawberries.  :(

He has only had strawberries once since this time, and even with Benadryl, broke out in hives. I am probably overly paranoid, but I know that he could have an anaphylactic reaction at any time. No more strawberries for this little boy!

One of my favorites...

...goldfish and all!

More Backyard Pool Time...

Camp Lambert

The last weekend in May we headed to Dallas for Camp Lambert. Amy and Zach had invited us all for a weekend full of fun and family. We were so excited to see everyone, and also to make a big announcement. I didn't talk to my mom or sister much that week {which is HIGHLY unusual} because I am not very good at keeping secrets. We were glowing the whole way to Dallas. The first night we were going to go to a minor league baseball game- so I made Bryson a shirt to help make our big announcement.
Aunt Amy was the first one to notice what it said, and put it all together. My mom cried, we called Jason's family. I was six weeks along and what a perfect time to share the good news with our family.
We went to the game that night and had so much fun just relaxing and enjoying the evening.

Of course Bryson was spoiled rotten, as usual, by PawPaw.
 "Come on ump!"

The next day we barbecued by the pool at Zach and Amy's apartment for lunch. Bryson had a blast soaking up the sun {and all the attention!}.

 Uncle Matt was dipping Bryson into the pool and then pulling him out again. B was cracking up, and then would say "Moe!" {more!}
 "Moe Uncle Zach!"
Saturday night we all got ready and attended the Saturday evening service at Prestonwood, the church where Zach is currently serving as an intern. It was a HUGE church! I have never seen anything like it- almost felt more like a college campus. They had a patriotic service for Memorial day and it was amazing. We got a tour of the entire campus thanks to our inside connection. :)
That night we all ate dinner together and then my mom watched Bryson in the hotel so that we, along with Amy and Zach, could go over to Matt and Shannon's apartment. It was great to finally see their apartment. We spent lots of that night laughing.
Sunday morning I woke up with severe cramping and knew right away that I had lost the baby. It was horrible and awful and that is the only way I know how to explain it. Honestly, we were devastated. We packed up early and headed home, and later ended up in the ER on the recommendation of my doctor. They confirmed what I already knew.
Through all of this, I have learned so much about the amazing people that surround us every day.
I had a friend come and get Bryson so that we could go to the hospital, and she hugged me and just let me cry. She felt my pain. I can't explain that.
I had friends who cried with me, loved on me, prayed for me in my living room, and brought me wine. There were deliveries of flowers, and our famlies- there aren't enough kind words to say about them.
Through it all, God was merciful in showing me the good in the ugly. It is still hard. I would have been due in January. I have good days, and not-so-good days.
I have an amazing husband who, even when he didn't know what to say, knew how to just be there.
We are blessed beyond blessed, and while we are in somewhat of a sad season, we know that God is the ultimate planner. He knows His plans for us, and we are trusting in that.

~PJs in the Pool~

One morning we were trying to get ready to go out of town, and Bryson ended up in the pool... in his pajamas. At first he was just standing in the water...

"I think I'll just feel the water with my hand, Mom."
"And maybe sit for a bit!"
We let him play for a while in his diaper, but it was huge and really weighing him down. Off it came! Shiny hiney!
Then the sprinkler system came on. Bryson and Jake had a blast playing in the spraying water...
...until Bryson ran out to the fence and wouldn't run back through the water. Daddy to the rescue!

This kid definitely keeps us on our toes!

Working Hard???

Bryson has really gotten into using his tools to "fix" everything lately. Before my trip to New York, he was constantly working on my suitcase. It's so funny to watch him mimic his daddy!

He also loved to get in my suitcase and shut it, then pop out and surprise us. He laughed and laughed and laughed, and we did too. He is such a ham!
And the award for the best daddy goes to...  Jason! Jason spent a lot of time in that suitcase.  :)

Tube Update

Bryson had surgery on May 6-- and I am just now blogging about it! I have been so far behind {on seemingly everything in my life}, but am now getting to a point where I am ready to {try to} catch up on everything. So, on to the tubes...
We went in that morning at 8am. Our biggest concern was him wanting his milk {he usually wakes up between 5am and 6am and the first thing he asks for is milk}. As soon as he woke up we put him in the car and drove. He surprised us and was perfectly happy the whole time.
I asked the doctor to check his adenoids while he was in surgery, due to the fact that Bryson has had a runny nose since birth. He was a little resistant, but then did have to take them out {the doctor said they were huge and infected}. SO glad I asked!
Bryson did great during/after surgery. They warned us that he had been under general anesthesia due to the adenoid removal, and would need to take a long nap to sleep it all off before he was allowed to walk on his own. In true Bryson fashion, he was galloping around the living room as soon as we got home. He didn't even take a nap until his regular nap time that afternoon. Such a trooper!
Grandma came to visit and help since Jason had to go to work that morning. She brought him a balloon and suckers!

We spent the whole day doing what Bryson wanted to do that day. He recovered without any problems and has not had an ear infection since! We are so thankful for the ease of this surgery and how well he is doing now.
