Long Weekend

Last weekend Jason made his annual pilgrimage to Bracketville for a guys weekend. He left on Thursday, and Grandma and Aunt Amy got here on Thursday. We spent the entire weekend shopping, relaxing, watching movies, and eating WAY too much. We also played at the park and outside with Jake. We had such a great time and I really wish that they lived closer. :(

Bryson crawled into his car seat and stood up. He was letting go and "surfing"- such a ham!
Bryson and Jake have become the best of friends (unfortunately Halle still doesn't want anything to do with him). Bryson would rather be outside than anywhere else. He's definitely all boy.

Uncle Matt came over for dinner on Saturday night.

Sunday afternoon we had a special treat when Derek, Melissa, and Landon stopped by to visit us on their way back to Spring. It was so good to see them- I can't believe how much Landon has grown! It also made me realize that I can't really remember Bryson ever being that small. Things change so fast. We are really trying to slow down around here and enjoy every single moment...

Bryson's newest thing- he is standing up WITHOUT holding onto anything! He can do this for at least ten seconds, and then will reach out and grab something to regain his balance or gently sit down. He has such great balance! He has been cruising the furniture for a while now, but this is a whole new world for us, knowing that walking probably isn't too far off!
We had such a great weekend and were definitely sad to see it come to an end. Of course we were so happy when Jason finally got home (at 2:30am Monday morning!). Jason also had a great weekend and him and Daniel actually got second place in their golf tournament. Life is good!

  1. Sounds like a really fun weekend! Glad you got to spend some time with family. Hard to believe Bryson is old enough to be standing without hands. Life is about to get really exciting for you guys, he will be running before you know it. Love that he was surfing in the carseat, such an adventurous little boy.
