Well, this week might just go down as one of the longest weeks we have ever faced as husband and wife. Craziness came at us from every angle. The crazy thing is that it felt like it took forever {the weekend could not get here soon enough}, yet looking back, it is all kind of a blur. I guess that is how it works. :)
Just to re-cap:
Monday--------> I turned in my resignation at work. I have been working crazy hours {out until 5:30 AM seeing patients, etc...}, and we have decided that this is not a good fit for our family. It was a difficult decision, but we are confident that in the end it will be for the best. I miss Bryson and my time at home {not to mention the hubs}. I lined up another job, an old job actually. I loved the old job {minus the drama} and decided that I could return on a part-time basis, avoid the drama, and have more time at home.
Will spent the night with us.
Girls night at the Kenleys watching the Bachelor while the men and kids crashed @ our house.
Tuesday--------> Jason received an offer to start a new job. A new career, really. He has been at his current job for the past six years. He loves his job {it may or may not be because he plays golf twice a week :) }, but he is ready for a change. We worked out a few of the details on Tuesday night, and submitted for the changes to be made.
Wednesdsay--------> The details of the new job were agreed upon by both parties. Jason was/is PUMPED UP! I am a little bit worried that I might feel like a single parent for a while, but am loving this excitement coming from him.
Kayla came over to babysit. Her and B played all evening until he crashed into bed.
We went to have our taxes done and ate dinner. FINALLY some time to talk about our crazy lives {without trying to chase a CrAzY 20-month-old around the whole time!}.
We realized that we had a babysitter, and went for a few drinks at a sweet friend's house. SO. MUCH. FUN!
Decided we need to get out more. :)
Thursday--------> Jason called for a conference call with his current bosses in Canada to tell them the news about his other job offer. They tried to get him to stay- said they would get back to him on Friday with an offer. He sent me a text that said he was "shaking out of his shoes." {I love that guy}
I found out that going back to my previous job would not be a wise decision- started looking for a new job.
Randall spent the night.
I had dinner with friends.
Friday-------->
Jason accepted the new position and will be starting in early April.
I had an echocardiogram of my heart. The technician {who was definitely NOT supposed to tell me anything} knows a lot of the people that I occasionally work with at the hospital. He talked to me the entire time, and ended up telling me that, although he likes this doctor, he thinks she is crazy! He didn't see anything to be concerned about, not even the smallest amount of leakage from any of the valves {which is what causes murmurs}. PRAISE GOD!!! A cardiologist will still have to read it, but this guy has been doing this for a long time. I feel a million times better.
So, Jason and I both quit our jobs this week. Jason accepted a new job and I am looking for a new job. My echo went well. :)
Bryson decided that the 4am hour is a perfect time to wake up- every day. We are exhausted!
During this time of hustle and bustle and even uncertainty, we are so thankful for eachother and for the joy {and stability} that our sweet little family brings. As we try to recuperate this weekend, we are able to sleep a little bit easier.
God is good.
Enough said.
