Sweet Saturday

Today was all about our family. Things have been so crazy around here with having company and being out of town for the holidays that I don't remember the last Saturday we had to just hang out as a family. We went to the mall this morning where Bryson got to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what he wanted for Christmas. I was a little bit nervous as to how he would do (the little girl behind us in the line screamed the whole time she was waiting because she was so scared!). Bryson was excited. He walked right up to Santa and gave him a big hug around his belly before crawling into his lap. Everyone was laughing. Then of course he wouldn't cooperate for the picture. He was slouching down, sticking his tongue out, and sticking his hands in his mouth. I was trying not to look like the crazy mom, but really wanted one good one. This is the best we got. I think it turned out pretty cute. Next year I want to try to take the kids to a bit of a better Santa Clause- maybe Cabella's? Anyways, here is B and his new pal Santa...
And of course we couldn't go to the mall without riding the train. Bryson has already ridden it once when Granny took him to the mall, and was so excited to ride it again. His Daddy agreed to get in with him, but said he was going to duck down the whole time. :) Of course right when they were getting in some people we know from church walked by. Jason was not happy! But aren't they cute? :)
 All aboard!

Jason said that someone walked out in front of the train, causing the "conductor" to slam on the breaks. When he did this Bryson flew forward hitting his face. He started screaming "That man hurt me! That man hurt me!" Jason said he was loud enough that every person in the mall stopped and stared at them. He shook it off pretty quickly and then started saying "Hi people!" to everyone they passed. So much for Jason keeping a low profile.
After Bryson's nap we headed to a local pecan orchard for family photos with Shannon Morton. I can't wait to see them.
We rounded out our day with dinner at McDonald's- Bryson's favorite place on Earth. I would say it was a great day, and judging by the way Bryson fell into bed tonight, I would say he agrees! Love sweet Saturdays with the family!

  1. What a great way to spend a Saturday. You tell Jason that riding a train in the mall with your son is kinda like going to town with no make-up,and a cap on your head because you didn't want to wash your hair. For some reason, all the people you haven't seen in years suddenly appear in every store you go to. Gotta love it.

  3. So many people have come to love you and your family in this. We are more aware of what a Godly family truly is. We have learned more about the illness. We know more about medical research and its possibilities. We have learned how God can be all around us. We have seen the power of prayer and faith. Miracles happen, in ways we never dreamed. God be with you and your entire family in the coming days.
